What happens if you leave almond milk out of the fridge?

Almond milk left out for more than two hours (including overnight) should be discarded unless it is in an unopened, shelf-stable package. Even if the almond milk does not have noticeable signs of spoilage, it could have unsafe levels of bacteria and toxins produced by those bacteria.

How Long Can Almond Milk Sit Out? The official recommendation is that you should throw away all perishable foods that have been left (in room temperature) for more than 2 hours.

Almond milk needs to be refrigerated once it’s opened. If the almond milk hasn’t been opened – and it’s of the shelf-stable variety – it will usually be okay at room temperature for a few weeks. However, some types of almond milk need to be refrigerated even if unopened.

Many commercially available varieties of almond milk have been ultra pasteurized—heated very quickly 280°F and then cooled down just as fast—to extend shelf life. If it’s a refrigerated carton, it’s generally recommended that once opened, it should be used within seven days.
