How many years are there in one yuga?

Lengths are given in divine years ( a.k.a. celestial or Deva years), where a divine year lasts for 360 solar (human) years. A chatur-yuga lasts for 4.32 million solar (12,000 divine) years with 1,728,000 years of Krita-yuga, 1,296,000 years of Treta-yuga, 864,000 years of Dvapara-yuga, and 432,000 years of Kali-yuga.

Kali Yuga, which lasts for 432,000 years, is believed to have started in 3102 BCE.

The first yuga (Krita) was An age of perfection lasting 1,728,000 years. The fourth and most-degenerate yuga (Kali) is the present age, which began in 3102 bce and will last 432,000 years.

Lord Vishnu Came in ending phase of Satya Yuga. Later he took avatar of Vamana to defeat King Bali the grandson of Prahalad who were asuras. Later, Treta Yuga ended with death of King Rama and Dwapar Yuga ended with death of Lord Krishna. Kalki avatar will come only at the endtime of Kali Yuga.

Based on astronomical information such as position of constellations and time of eclipses available in scriptures, they have concluded that events in the Ramayana took place 7,000 years ago And events in the Mahabharata took place 5,000 years ago.

About the Four Yugas

The four great epochs in Hinduism are Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dwapar Yuga, and Kali Yuga. Satya Yug or the Age of Truth is said to last for 4,000 divine years, Treta Yuga for 3,000, Dwapara Yug for 2,000 and Kali Yuga will last for 1,000 divine years—a divine year equalling 432,000 earthly years.

Born in northern India (around 3,228 BCE), Lord Krishna’s life marks the passing of the Dvapara age and beginning of the Kal yuga (which is also considered as the current age).

In Hindu mythology, Kaliyuga is The fourth and stage of the world. In this stage the world is in a state of moral decay.

The Dvapara Yuga ( a.k.a. Dwapara Yuga), in Hinduism, is the third and third best of the four yugas (world ages) in a Yuga Cycle, preceded by Treta Yuga and followed by Kali Yuga. Dvapara Yuga lasts for 864,000 years (2,400 divine years).

It had all four legs in the Satya Yuga and two in the succeeding Dvapara Yuga.

Duration and structure.

The Vedic texts state that humans during Satya Yuga, or the Golden Age, lived for up to 100,000 years. There was no disparity among cultures. Everyone enjoyed worldly comforts and lived in perfect harmony with the natural environment. There was no war, famine, or conflict among the human race.

Satya Yuga is known as The age of truth, when humanity is governed by gods, and every manifestation or work is close to the purest ideal and humanity will allow intrinsic goodness to rule supreme. It is sometimes referred to as the “Golden Age”.
